The Dust is a classic body horror wrapped in a drama and mystery. Julie is a prodigy investigator seeking the truth about her father's death who is called back to duty to investigate a bizzar death. The investigation leads her to discover the Dust has penetrated the dome and as everything begins to fall apart as the Dust begins to destroy everything. In a desperate attempt to unravel the truth, Julie discovers the truth of her father and as the city cuts itself in half stranding her with the Dust she faces her own death... and unravels the deeper truth. It is a dystopian setting with a torterous monster devouring everyone it touches with a mystery and drama woven within.
A powerul story dealing with life and death in a visually destructive manner as our fiesty female investigator cuts against the grain despite her personal feelings of loss. Even as the city abandons them she stands to fight to the very end. Even as she begins to understand the naked truth of what transpired and brought the Dust inside, she holds the line. Only when nothing is left does she resign to her fate... only to discover one final truth.
